Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights revealed that the winner of the 2023 Human Rights Award is the Guatemalan organization Parlamento del Pueblo Xinka (Parliament of the Xinka People). The Xinka Parliament is the Assembly of the Ancestral Authorities of the Xinka people, which is the second-largest indigenous nation in Guatemala. Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is recognizing the organization for its environmental activism and work to protect the Xinka people’s culture.
