Organizations Help Preserve Tribal Land in U.S. National Parks

The black oak grove, which is located near Yosemite National Park’s El Capitan, has suffered damage from social trails created by visitors. This is especially significant since it endangers the habitat that is precious to seven tribes and communities. To help, the Yosemite Ancestral Stewards program is working alongside the Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps to restore the grove. The program is funded by several organizations, such as the National Park Foundation and Apple. Since 2017, Apple customers have had a chance to support these types of programs through a designated Apple Pay campaign, which was established to celebrate the National Park Service’s anniversary.
