The Outdoors: Making Room for Everyone

Robert F. Smith is committed to helping find solutions to challenges facing the natural world, starting with preserving and promoting the value of the outdoors. Smith accomplishes this by partnering with groups that protect publicly accessible green spaces for all, including families out for a hike to young children discovering nature in their own neighborhoods. It is important to Smith that everyone has access to meaningful outdoor experiences. This need is especially significant for communities across the U.S. who have lacked access to these resources.

“All children must have opportunities to experience nature and gain an appreciation for the clean water, fresh air, animals and plants we hope to preserve — and do it in an environment where they feel safe and welcome.”
